Finacea, also known as azelaic acid, is a prescription treatment for rosacea, a type of acne found in adults. It comes in gel form.
You can apply Finacea directly to the affected skin to target acne. Finacea should be taken as per your doctor’s recommendation. Do not change the way that you are taking the medication without consulting your doctor.
If skin redness or dryness occurs, you should decrease the application to every other day.
When using Finacea, your sensitivity to sunlight can increase. Remember to always wear sunscreen (minimum SPF 15+) while using this medication.
If you experience severe burning, stinging, tingling, or itching on your face, or dry, red, or flaky skin, consult your doctor.
Finacea in Canada is only available by prescription. Talk to your doctor to find out if it might be the right medication for you.
